BONHOEFFER’S COST, written by Mary Ruth Clarke with Tim Gregory and directed by Agape’s Artistic Director, Jeff Davis, tells the inspirational true story of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a German Lutheran Pastor and theologian who courageously opposed Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime during World War II.

BONHOEFFER’S COST finds Dietrich Bonhoeffer imprisoned in Berlin’s Tegel Prison during the darkest days of WWII.  As the war rages around him and his faith is tested, Bonhoeffer deliberates the cost attached to acting from one’s convictions and reflects on the events leading up to his arrest.  In a blind race between the forces of good and evil, will Dietrich make it out alive?

Agape’s production of BONHOEFFER’S COST will utilize Bonhoeffer’s own words to tell his story, as well as projections, images, and videos from WWII to set the scene.

However, the most remarkable element of the production is the venue itself.  BONHOEFFER‘S COST will be staged in the Sanctuary at Palm Valley Lutheran Church in Round Rock.  The beautiful historic landmark was built in 1896.  The building’s Gothic style and incredible stained glass windows are sure to enhance the production.

BONHOEFFER’S COST plays The Sanctuary at Palm Valley Lutheran Church, located at 2500 East Palm Valley Blvd, Round Rock, TX.  The play runs Thursday, May 11-Sunday, May 21, 2017.  Performances are Thursdays – Saturdays at 7:30pm with matinee performances on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30pm.  A post-show discussion with the cast and creative team will follow the performance on Friday, May 12th and the evening performance on Saturday, May 20th.
