The mission of Hope United Church is to reach out with the extravagant love of Jesus Christ, meeting folks where they are and inviting them to walk in the footsteps of our Lord. We are deeply committed to being a church that helps others. We believe Jesus calls us to be outwardly focused, to think and act with mission, and to share the love of Christ through Hope. Though we are small in number, we are mighty in compassion. Last year, we gave over 4000 hours in community service to our neighbors.

We have also initiated a 5th Saturday Service Project.  With our dedication to mission and community involvement, every time there is a 5th Saturday in the month, Hope United participates in a local service project to bring hope out into our community.

As a mission-oriented church, we have covenanted to give 10% of all money collected through our general fund offering to outside causes, splitting it between denominational support and local support (given through The Caring Place in Georgetown).

In addition to these gifts, we designate a Mission of the Month to support, whether a special offering through the greater church or a local charity or mission. We have partnered with Annie Purl Elementary to provide mentors, assistance, and school supplies, and we’ve given to The Literacy Council of Williamson County, Meals on Wheels of Williamson County, the Hope Alliance, the Pregnancy Help Center of Williamson County and the Boys and Girls Club of Georgetown. We’ve also supported various missions throughout our world, including Back Bay Mission, the Southwest Good Samaritan Home, the Disciple’s Week of Compassion and the UCC’s One Great Hour of Sharing, which both help with refugee relief and development to transform lives through health, education, agricultural and emergency relief initiatives throughout the world.  And we have supported the Pentecost Offering which helps with new church starts & evangelism.
